Hosted by Lance Chase, this episode of Focus Hawaii highlights the Polynesian Cultural Center’s first-ever Community Mahalo Week, celebrating the Center’s 33rd anniversary. The program features comments from PCC President Les Moore, Vice President of Marketing David Preece, and Vice President of Human Resources John Muaina, who explain the purpose of the event—to thank the surrounding Ko‘olauloa communities for decades of support. During Mahalo Week, residents from Kahaluʻu to Haleʻiwa were invited to enjoy free admission to the villages, the IMAX films, and the evening show, along with special discounts on dining. More than 2,500 community members attended, showing strong local interest. The segment also includes footage of PCC performances and cultural demonstrations, along with reflections on the close relationship between BYU–Hawaii students, the community, and the Center.
